BANDY BOATS
Custom Design/Built Open
Sport Fisherman

Bandy Boats are custom
boats made in Maryland. Epoxy resins and foam is used to
construct the hull and structure.
Bandy Boats are
custom designed and built. They are "one offs," that are
built using unique jigs that are exclusive to each boat. The
jigs are tools that are used to define the shape of the parts.
The jigs are built from inexpensive materials that are later
discarded.
We build the
boat using the best materials available (epoxy resin,
closed cell foam and knitted fabrics). My designs emphasize
the efficient use of energy. The goal is to produce a very
strong, lightweight boat for coastal fishing and cruising. My
boats have simple, functional layouts. The running bottoms are
designed to provide sea keeping for safe transport in all
conditions. High horsepower to weight ratios provide for top
performance.
After I
define several parameters of the project the design phase can
begin. The hull shape and size is dictated by the owner's
needs and intended use. The accommodation space is then
determined by the clients' expectation, once again. Express
style boats can vary widely when it comes to accommodation.
Center consoles, much less. The boat evolves on the computer.
It is for all intent and purpose, weighed, launched and sea
trialed on the computer. I have many computer files from
previous design/ build projects. We have completed some thirty
design projects and have built four boats to date. We can use
any drive system single or twin. We can build to 42 feet.
We use the
best products in the creation of our boats and have had many
years to enhance our production skills. The efficient use of
labor and waste minimization allows us to build unique, high
performance, custom boats that are comparable in price to
Grady White or Boston Whaler (for comparable size and
rigging), yet are custom to you...For a little more info and
