Williams, possibly the greatest hitter who ever lived, wasn't
just your average fisherman. This 1,235 lb. Black Marlin was
caught by Ted in the Pacific waters off the coast of Cabo
Blanco, Peru in December of 1954. After his retirement from
baseball, his lifelong passion for fishing made him a world
class angler. Ted Williams was inducted into the International
Game Fish Association Hall of Fame in 1999.

It has been said that Captain Frank
Mundus' background was the inspiration for the shark hunter "Quint"
in the book and blockbuster movie Jaws.
Mundus pioneered the sport of shark fishing in 1951 off Montauk,
New York, and has landed many large sharks during his colorful
career of more than five decades, including a 1,080 lb. Mako and
a 3,427 lb. great white caught on rod and reel.
On June 5, 1964, he and his crew caught this monster 4,500 lb.
great white shark. It took five hours to land and was mentioned
in the Guinness Book of Records. This shark was 17-1/2 foot long
with a 13 foot girth. News reports of its capture may have
influenced Jaws author Peter Benchley to create his classic work
of fiction.

known for his literary achievements, Ernest Hemingway® was one
of the most prolific offshore fishermen of the twentieth
century. The photograph featured on this shirt was taken in
Bimini circa 1935. He is pictured next to a blue marlin and
