Every Penn International® baitcasting reel
features a lightweight, one piece forged machined aluminum frame. The
spool is machined from solid bar stock aluminum. Both smooth, contoured
side plates are forged, machined aluminum. The frame, spool and side
plates are finished with Penn's trademark gleaming gold anodized finish,
for the durability, corrosion resistance and good looks saltwater anglers
demand.

975CS:
New for 2001, Penn has introduced the
American-made International® 975CS — a special casting version of
its immensely popular International® 975 baitcasting reel.
The 15- to 20-lb. class 975CS is ideal for a
wide variety of inshore and offshore saltwater applications. With no
level wind mechanism, the 975CS provides superior casting distance —
ideal for reaching blues and stripers in the surf, tempting tarpon or
reds on the flats or fly lining live baits to school-sized tuna and
dolphin. West Coast anglers will also find Penn’s 975CS tailor-made
for battling tough island yellowtail, white sea bass and calicos.
The casting qualities of the 975CS are further
enhanced by Penn’s adjustable, three-level centrifugal brake
control, which lets you select the exact amount of desired spool
tension. The 4.5-1 retrieve ratio provides the perfect blend of speed
and power, thanks to oversized stainless steel main gears and pinion
gears. You can work lures quickly or gain ground on a charging fish,
while still maintaining the cranking power to overcome stubborn fish.
Two aircraft quality stainless steel ball
bearings plus a third one-way roller bearing with stainless steel
rollers make the 975CS ultra smooth and quiet, whether you’re
casting, cranking or fighting a fish. The “Infinite Anti-Reverse”
provided by the one-way roller bearing eliminates any play in the
handle for rock-solid hooksets.
International® reels are known for superior
drags, and the 975CS is no exception. Penn’s HT100™ drag material
is impervious to water, salt, oil and grease, providing smooth
fish-stopping performance under the toughest conditions.

Baitcaster family, the 975CS is built with a lightweight forged
machined aluminum frame for strength and durability, a spool forged
from solid bar stock aluminum and smooth, contoured forged aluminum
sideplates — all anodized with Penn’s gleaming gold finish for
corrosion resistance and good looks.
The International® 975CS weighs just 15 ounces
and holds 340 yards of 15-pound test. It is an ideal match with a
variety of quality Penn rods from the International® II, Sabre,
PowerGraph and Power Stick families.
