Stiffy Fiberglass Push Poles

The STIFFY fiberglass pole
produced by FiberTex is almost indestructible. The ends are
glass filled nylon with a point at one end for staking the boat
out or poling across hard bottom or shell. The other end is a Y
shape with a mud bar that gives a good footing when poling in
mud or any other soft bottom. The STIFFY floats so if it falls
into the water you can retrieve it. If you want a push pole that
will last longer than your boat, give the STIFFY Fiberglass pole
a try.
Stiffy Kayak Push Poles

Todays more stable canoes and
kayaks allow the angler to stand up, increasing visibility and
fishability. Industry experts agree a push pole is the preferred
method for maneuvering and silently controlling your lightweight
watercraft. The STIFFY Canoe/Kayak pole is a 1.25“ high
visibility white fiberglass shaft, with gel coat impregnated
throughout to add long term UV stability, thus preventing
powdering or splintering. Super high strength nylon spike, and
foot come standard. The ends of the STIFFY Canoe/Kayak pole are
sleeved with a 6” piece of STIFFY Graphite to give it unequalled
strength where you need it. The STIFFY Canoe/Kayak pole is
available in lengths of 5’, 8’, 10’, 12’, and 14’. STIFFY
Canoe/Kayak Poles float and offer a limited one-year warranty.

Once you have
decided to purchase a push pole the next order of business is to
consider what length of pole best suits your
needs.
Height
Where will you be poling from, The deck or
from a tower?
If you are poling from a tower then we recommend a minimum
length of 18 foot up to a 21 foot pole. If you are poling from
the deck then a 12 foot or a 14 foot pole will be long enough.
Depth & Bottom Conditions
How deep is the water you will be poling
in?
Consider the bottom conditions carefully because a pole
will sink further in Louisiana mud than in Florida coral.
A softer bottom will require a little longer pole.
Time
Consider how much time you plan to spend
poling.
You will want a lighter and longer pole if you are planning
on doing alot of poling. Shorter poles are fine for casual use
(staking out, drift control, or poling for short periods of time
),
but they are impractical for hours of poling.
More length lets you "Walk the pole" ( hand over hand ) a
few times before picking the pole up and reposition it.
This means less noise as well as less work for you.
Remember, store the pole fork toward the bow and
spike toward the stern, this way if the pole happens to slip
back during travel, the fork will catch on the bow mounting
bracket
