So-Lo's FLYING GAFF has a patented ADJUSTABLE TENSION RELEASE which allows you to preset the tension you want for your type of fishing, and know your flying gaff will release - when you want it to release - first time every time!

The stainless steel and Acetal coupling has adjusting rings for setting the exact tension you are comfortable with. Set the tension with the scale you set the drag or your reel or "custom set it" by "trial and error". When you "wire" your fish, the flying gaff hook will penetrate, "first time every time" when preset properly. After the hook sinks in, it will smoothly release from the handle, "every time". There is no need to worry about the fish "rolling the wrong way", saltwater "freezing the release" or "Breakaway Line" not releasing properly!

DART GAFF®

So-Lo's DART GAFF is a commercial quality "harpoon system". All handles are heavy wall Anodized Aluminum Tubing, have a Stainless Steel nose cone for forward weight and a plastic end cap with a 3-1/2" nylon loop for easy retention or retrieval if thrown. (All handles float.) The DART GAFF handles have two plastic retainer clips to hold So-Lo's P.V.C. coated cable/rigged darts in place. The Stainless Steel Shaft fits all commercial equipment (3/8-24 threads and 7° taper) and is 20-3/8" long. "Darts" are #316 Stainless Steel investment castings, "razor sharp", and are available separately or rigged with 1/8" - 7 x 7 strand P.V.C. coated #316 stainless steel cable.

The PROFESSIONAL (1000-007), (or Standard DART GAFF), was designed as a 7' cockpit harpoon, and an alternative to a flying gaff. The DART GAFF is preferred by many "Tuna" and "Shark" fisherman because you can "Stick" the fish in the head or shoulder and save valuable meat. (A gaff or flying gaff is normally sunk into the stomach or side of a fish.) It stows away in 5' of space when broken down.
